New Dawn Wellbeing respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information when you visit our website or contact us about our services.
Information We Collect
If you contact New Dawn Wellbeing by email, we may collect your name, email address and any personal information you choose to include in your message. If you fill in a form on our website, that data will be temporarily stored on the web host before being sent to us.
As a mental health service, some of the information you provide may relate to your mental health or personal circumstances. This is considered sensitive personal information and we take appropriate care to protect it.
Our website may also collect basic technical information, such as your IP address and information about how you use the website, where this is necessary for the website to function or improve.
The GDPR states that we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data.
There are different lawful bases depending on the stage at which we are processing your data. We have explained these below:
If you have had counselling with one of our specialists and it has now ended, we will use legitimate interest as our lawful basis for holding and using your personal information.
If you are currently having counselling or if you are in contact with us to consider counselling, we will process your personal data where it is necessary for the performance of our contract.
The GDPR also makes sure that we look after any sensitive personal information that you may disclose to us appropriately. This type of information is called ‘special category personal information’. The lawful basis for us processing any special categories of personal information is that it is for provision of health treatment (in this case counselling) and necessary for a contract with a health professional (in this case, a contract between one of our specialists and you).
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to enquiries, communicate with you, provide our services and manage our professional relationship with you.
We may also use information where necessary to meet our legal, professional or regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for unrelated marketing purposes.
How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure and confidential. Access to personal information is limited to those who need it for legitimate professional or business purposes.
All communication with New Dawn Wellbeing is handled by email. You should be aware that no method of electronic communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Sharing Your Information
We will not share your personal information with third parties unless this is necessary to provide our services, required by law, or necessary to protect someone's safety.
Where we use third-party services to operate our website or business, we take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately and securely.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We only keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary and in accordance with applicable legal and professional requirements. When information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted or disposed of.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. These include the right to request access to your information, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion.
If you have any questions about how we use your information or would like to exercise your rights, please contact us by email.
We do not work with persons under 18 years of age.
